An ex-aide of Donald Trump has remarked on witnessing a decline in the former President.
Alyssa Griffin, who served as the White House Communications Director until December 2020, has been openly critical of Trump since her departure. During an appearance on a show called View, Griffin’s co-host expressed observations about a noticeable change in Trump’s behavior, especially in comparison to his demeanor in 2016.
Concerns have been raised regarding the ages, cognitive abilities, and campaign blunders of both Trump and President Joe Biden. Despite Trump being the older candidate turning 78 next Friday, polls have shown more voter apprehension towards Biden’s age.
Griffin pointed out that she believes the legal issues surrounding former President Trump are affecting his sharpness, expressing that he may not be as adept as before.
She emphasized, “I’m referring to comparing the two. [Former House Speaker] Nancy Pelosi and [former South Carolina Governor] Nikki Haley constantly confuse names. I think the pressure from the 2020 election loss and legal battles is taking a toll on his mental acuity. I believe he’ll face consequences for his pending legal issues, which might be affecting his sharpness. It’s surprising that his staunch supporters haven’t picked up on this.”
Former U.S. President Trump, who was convicted in May on 34 charges related to falsifying business records and hush money payments to Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election, has vehemently denied any wrongdoing, claiming the case to be biased against him.
His sentencing is scheduled for July 11th, just days before the Republican nomination. The maximum sentence for each felony count is four years, and while it’s uncertain if jail time will be recommended, the judge retains the authority to deliver such a sentence.
Trump faces additional criminal cases, with uncertainties about their timing before November, but he maintains his innocence in all matters.
