Last week, the former President, Donald Trump, made a surprise appearance on Steve Bannon‘s War Room show during an interview with Senate candidate Kari Lake.
During the chat, Bannon paused Lake mid-sentence to take a call. “Hey, Mr. President, I’m live on TV, can I call you back?” Bannon asked while Lake chuckled.
“Kari, keep going—your favorite person,” Bannon joked after wrapping up the call.
Grace Chong, the Chief Financial Officer of War Room, later shared a post on X (formerly Twitter) revealing that “President Trump said, ‘Love WarRoom, call me back.'”
Bannon and Lake have been strong supporters of Trump as the 2024 presidential election approaches. Trump is likely to face President Joe Biden again in a 2020 rematch later this year.
Recently, both Bannon and Trump appeared at Turning Point Action’s convention in Detroit to discuss critical issues before the upcoming election.
In a passionate speech, Bannon outlined the potential scenarios if Trump were to be reelected, touching upon topics like the release of January 6 defendants, tax cuts, and border security.
Bannon criticized Biden, expressing that “We’ve seen what a feckless hapless old man can do.” He also pledged to dismantle the FBI, calling it the “American Gestapo.”
Ending his speech with a call to action, Bannon urged the audience to stand firm, resulting in cheers, applause, and a resounding “USA, USA, USA” chant.
“Ladies and gentlemen, it’s very simple: Victory or Death!”
With a looming prison sentence for contempt of Congress for failing to comply with a subpoena, Bannon has been instructed to report to prison by July 1, 2022.
