Recently, the police revealed new information about a tragic mass shooting near Las Vegas that resulted in the death of five individuals and left another critically wounded, before the shooter took his own life.
The shooter, named Adams, targeted his ex-girlfriend’s 24-year-old daughter and the daughter’s 22-year-old girlfriend in this horrifying event.
During the incident, a 20-year-old neighbor from upstairs, who knew the women, came down to offer help but was shot by Adams for reasons unknown to the officials.
Adams then proceeded to the upstairs apartment and attacked a 59-year-old grandmother, a 40-year-old mother, and a 13-year-old sister, firing upon all three of them.
Remarkably, two individuals in another part of the apartment went unnoticed by Adams and remained unharmed during the ordeal.
The 13-year-old victim was rushed to University Medical Center’s trauma center in critical condition, whereas the other five victims were tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
After the shooting, Adams briefly took his ex-girlfriend hostage but she managed to escape and seek help from a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department patrol officer who was nearby.
Following a 10 p.m. report of the shooting on Monday, North Las Vegas police found the victims in the upstairs apartment. With the ex-girlfriend’s assistance, they discovered three more victims in the downstairs apartment.
A manhunt for Adams commenced, with authorities cautioning the public about his armed and dangerous status.
Adams was eventually located on Dwayne Stedman Avenue, where he ended his own life in a nearby backyard after ignoring officers’ commands to surrender his firearm.
According to officials, the community is no longer at risk from this tragic incident.
The North Las Vegas Police Department is providing support to the surviving victims and their families during this challenging time, as per their statement.
