Fans Share Their Thoughts on Ryan Seacrest’s Debut as Host of ‘Wheel of Fortune’

After much anticipation, Ryan Seacrest has stepped in as the new host of Wheel of Fortune, taking over from the legendary Pat Sajak.

Seacrest made his debut on September 9, and fans quickly took to social media to share their thoughts on his performance. One fan remarked, “Seems like Ryan was trained very well for this. He’s doing a great job,” while another added, “I figured Ryan would be pretty decent. So far, so good.”

Back in June 2023, Ryan excitedly announced his new role on Instagram, sharing a photo of the iconic wheel and saying, “I’m truly humbled to be stepping into the footsteps of the legendary Pat Sajak.”

In his post, he expressed admiration for Pat and Vanna White, stating, “It’s been a privilege and pure joy to watch Pat and Vanna on our television screens for an unprecedented 40 years.” He looked forward to learning from Pat during this transition.

While many embraced the fresh hosting style, some fans felt it would take time to adjust. One viewer mentioned, “Ryan needs the notecards in his hands. Watching him just chatting is awkward,” while another commented, “Wheel of Fortune is gonna take some getting used to with Ryan Seacrest as the new host.” Some even lamented changes to the show’s graphics, despite liking Ryan’s hosting.

Pat Sajak, who hosted the show for 40 years alongside Vanna White, delivered a heartfelt farewell on June 7, stating, “It’s been an incredible privilege to be invited into millions of homes night after night.” He ended his last episode on an emotional note, thanking viewers for their support.

Although Sajak is retiring from hosting duties, Variety reports that he will stay involved as a consultant for the show.
