George Clooney, an Oscar-winning actor, is also known for his legendary prankster antics.
During a recent episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! which aired on September 17, he shared a memorable prank he pulled on Tom Cruise by posing as Brad Pitt, his co-star in Wolfs.
At 63, Clooney revealed he created fake letterhead to impersonate Pitt, writing to Cruise and others as if he were the star himself.
“The one I sent to Tom was especially brutal. I told him that they were planning Interview with the Vampire 2 and that Brad wanted to play Lestat,” Clooney recounted. He also sent a similar letter to Meryl Streep, including a box of CDs, claiming the accent coach helped him in Troy.
In the original 1994 film, Cruise and Pitt portrayed vampires in historical settings.
Kimmel revealed how Brad reacted when he found out he’d been pranked: “Tom called him and said it was cool for him to play Lestat, and Brad was confused, asking, ‘What are you talking about?'”
Clooney acknowledged that his friends usually catch on eventually. “There’s typically a clue that gives me away,” he said. “They somehow figure it out.”
Mark your calendars for Clooney’s new film, Wolfs, hitting theaters on September 20, and streaming on Apple TV+ starting September 27.
