Jazz Jennings, a prominent transgender advocate, has grown up right before our eyes. On September 4, she took to Instagram to mark a significant moment in her life.
In a heartwarming post featuring a “Last first day” sign, the 23-year-old announced that she has officially started her senior year at Harvard University, slated for graduation in summer 2025. Jennings was accepted into Harvard in 2019, a journey showcased on her reality show, I Am Jazz. After deferring her admission, she finally enrolled in 2022.
Since starting her college journey, Jennings has scaled back her social media presence and media appearances. The latest season of I Am Jazz aired in 2023, but in a chat with Harvard Crimson, she mentioned considering a path as a social media influencer while at school. However, she ultimately decided to prioritize her own well-being.
“I thought about sharing more about my Harvard experience as an influencer,” Jennings explained. “But I realized I can’t always take care of the world or put myself out there completely.”
When discussing her post-graduation plans, Jennings remained open-ended, stating, “Maybe I’ll return to TV, maybe not. We’ll see what life brings.”
In another recent update, Jennings celebrated a personal achievement, sharing that she has lost 100 pounds as part of her health and wellness journey.
