Kate Gosselin’s Lawyer Responds to Son Collin’s Abuse Claims

Kate Gosselin is addressing serious claims made by her son, Collin Gosselin.

Earlier this month, Collin, aged 20, alleged that Kate, now 49, zip-tied him as a child and locked him in a room equipped with cameras and a mattress, during an interview with U.S. Sun. In a follow-up discussion with Fox News, her lawyer reacted on September 11.

Richard Puelo stated, “She has no comment because it won’t change what happened in the past. I don’t believe she intentionally harmed any of her kids in any way.”

Puelo added, “If Kate had been abusing her child, the authorities would have intervened, removed him from the situation, and possibly charged her. That never happened.”

The Gosselins first gained fame through TLC’s Jon & Kate Plus 8, a reality show that highlighted their life with twins and sextuplets. The series ran from 2007 to 2009 before the couple’s divorce, and was later rebranded as Kate Plus 8, airing until 2017.

In Collin’s interview, Jon Gosselin expressed support for his son, revealing he only learned about the alleged abuse through Collin. He recalled that some friends had inquired about a locked room in the basement of their former home.

Jon gained custody of Collin and his twin sister Hannah in 2018 after Kate purportedly had him institutionalized for two years. Since then, Collin has distanced himself from Kate and his other siblings.
