Despite having A-list parents, Suri Cruise is experiencing college life just like any other teenager. Recent photos from The Daily Mail capture the 18-year-old and her mother, Katie Holmes, moving into Carnegie Mellon University on Sunday, August 18.
Smiles were abundant as the two tackled the task of unpacking. Suri, dressed in an off-the-shoulder white top and baggy denim capris paired with chic white sneakers, also sported a floral necklace. Meanwhile, Holmes matched in a cream and gray striped shirt with loose jeans and layered necklaces.
Ranked #24 among National Universities by U.S. News, Carnegie Mellon is kicking off its orientation week ahead of classes starting on August 26. Rumor has it that Suri will have a roommate this semester.
Suri celebrated her 18th birthday in April and recently graduated from high school in New York, where she chose to go by “Suri Noel,” using her mother’s middle name rather than her father’s surname.
While Katie and Suri appear to have a strong bond, Suri’s relationship with Tom Cruise is reportedly strained. According to Page Six, the two have not seen each other since 2012, as Holmes has sought to shield her daughter from Scientology. It’s been said that she is bound by NDAs regarding her relationship with Cruise, who is currently filming his latest project, the new Mission Impossible, in London.
