While Nick Cannon might have romantic notions about reuniting with Mariah Carey, he’s accepting reality. Despite earlier claims to E! News that he’d “absolutely” jump at the chance to reconnect, Cannon admitted to People during Fox Fall Press Day on September 5 that it’s probably never going to happen. “Yeah, she don’t want me,” he confessed. “She’s moved on from my crazy antics.”
During previous interviews, Cannon mentioned it would be foolish not to express interest in rekindling their romance, though he knew his ex-wife might not feel the same way.
Continuing the conversation with People, Cannon reflected on his twins, Moroccan and Monroe, who are now 13 years old. “Teenagers are scary,” he joked, noting that watching his daughter grow into a young woman is quite alarming. “I feel like I’m still a teenager,” he added.
Cannon actually has a total of 9 children with 5 different mothers. His family includes Golden Sagon, 7, Powerful Queen, 3, and Rise Messiah, 1, with Brittany Bell; twins Zion and Zillion, 3, and daughter Beautiful Zeppelin, 1, with DJ Abby De La Rosa; daughter Legendary Love, 2, with Bre Tiesi; daughter Onyx Ice, 1, with LaNisha Cole; and daughter Halo Marie, 1, with Alyssa Scott. Sadly, he also experienced the loss of his first child, Zen, due to brain cancer at just one year old.
Cannon has emphasized the importance of family, sharing that all his children spend time together. He reminisced about their summer activities in Malibu, filled with beach outings and travels.
Nick and Mariah’s journey began with their marriage in 2008, welcoming twins in 2011, and finalizing their divorce in 2016. Recently, Mariah has been dealing with the loss of her mother and sister on the same day, a topic she discussed in her memoir, revealing the complexities of their relationships but also the comfort of being with her mother in her final days.
