Sabrina Carpenter Opens Up About Her Relationship with Barry Keoghan: Here’s What She Says!

Sabrina Carpenter is all about Barry Keoghan’s acting chops!

During her recent appearance on CBS Sunday Mornings on October 6, Carpenter, 25, shared her reasoning for casting the 31-year-old actor in her music video for “Please Please Please.”

When asked about her choice to include Keoghan—especially while keeping her relationship under wraps—Carpenter explained he was simply the best fit for the role. “Honestly, I thought, ‘Who’s the best actor for this music video?’ and he was right there in a chair,” said Carpenter, recalling Keoghan’s excitement about the project.

In the steamy music video, the Banshees of Inisherin star plays Carpenter’s love interest, portraying a criminal. The video concludes with Carpenter handcuffing him and placing duct tape over his mouth, finishing it off with a signature kiss marked by her red lipstick.

Carpenter also mentioned that Keoghan enjoys her music, adding, “He likes the song, which is great,” while teasing, “He does like my music.”

Fans took to X (formerly Twitter) to share their thoughts on Carpenter’s insights about Keoghan. One user remarked on how meaningful it was that she claimed her decision was ‘not-even-biased,’ underscoring her admiration for his talent alongside their relationship.

Another fan wrote, “Sabrina Carpenter casting Barry Keoghan shows that talent and personal connection can align beautifully!” while someone else praised the music video as “one of the best of the year,” complete with heart and fire emojis.

The couple has been dating for nearly a year and prefers to keep their relationship private. Earlier this year, Keoghan organized a surprise 25th birthday party for Carpenter in Brooklyn. Despite facing breakup rumors in August, her recent comments seem to quash any speculation about their relationship status.

In the meantime, Carpenter is currently on the first leg of her Short n’ Sweet world tour.
