Baseball’s Heartfelt Tribute to Taylor Swift Takes the Internet by Storm

Major League Baseball recently made a touching move to embrace pop star Taylor Swift and her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, of the Kansas City Chiefs, resulting in a viral moment.

On Monday night, the couple enjoyed a night out at Yankee Stadium, perched in a suite while watching the Yankees take on the Cleveland Guardians during the ALCS. They were joined by comedian Jerrod Carmichael, adding to the star-studded atmosphere.

In a delightful nod to Swift, MLB’s official X (formerly Twitter) account shared a video of their evening, captioned with a lyric from Swift’s 2014 hit “Welcome to New York.”

As of now, the MLB video has amassed over a million views. However, reactions were decidedly mixed. While some fans were thrilled by Swift and Kelce’s presence, others felt it overshadowed the game itself.

Supporters of the couple took to social media to express their excitement, with one user stating, “Taylor and Travis bring the star power to the field,” while another noted, “Nice. They’re showing support and enjoying the game.”

On the flip side, several baseball purists voiced their discontent. Comments like “Trying to boast those ratings I see,” and “Quit glazing these people and stick to baseball” were common, indicating a preference for keeping sports and celebrity separate.

Swift’s appearances at Kelce’s games have been frequent since they started dating. She was notably seen cheering for him during the Chiefs’ recent victory over the New Orleans Saints, celebrating together afterward.

Interestingly, Swift and Kelce have a history with baseball. Swift performed the national anthem at the 2008 World Series, and last year, Kelce threw the first pitch for the Guardians.

Recently, the couple was also spotted indulging in a double date with Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds in Soho, where Swift showcased her stylish flair in a black-and-nude outfit.
