Ella Emhoff, the stepdaughter of Vice President Kamala Harris, is showcasing her passion for sports alongside her flair for style.
On September 24, Emhoff was spotted front row at a WNBA game, cheerfully supporting the New York Liberty as they triumphed over the Atlanta Dream with a score of 91-82 at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.
Ella and her brother Cole are children of Doug Emhoff, Kamala Harris’s husband from his previous marriage to Kerstin Emhoff.
In her Instagram stories, Emhoff shared moments from her night, including a stylish courtside snapshot in a black, white, and green bomber jacket from Off White, which she made sure to tag.
“Growing up playing basketball made this a dream come true for me. It’s incredible to witness the growth of the WNBA. Let’s keep supporting women’s sports—especially the New York Liberty!” she expressed.
In another story, she reminisced by posting childhood basketball photos alongside a recent game shot, declaring, “Ball is life. Just so you know… I wasn’t great, but my love for sports is real.”
Emhoff has been a passionate advocate for her stepmother as Harris campaigns for the upcoming November presidential election. She even spoke at the Democratic National Convention in August, where Harris secured her party’s nomination.
Recently, Ella, who boasts 481,000 followers on Instagram, urged her audience to register to vote with a captivating video of herself knitting an American flag and the words “I voted” to Beyoncé’s “Freedom,” which serves as Harris’s campaign anthem.
“It’s national voter registration day!” she encouraged. “Check your status, register if you haven’t, and ensure your loved ones are registered too. Your vote truly matters.”
In a spirited response to Republican VP candidate J.D. Vance’s disparaging comments towards Democrats, Emhoff lightheartedly challenged his notion of being “childless.” In July, she posted a cheeky photo with her brother Cole, saying, “How can you be ‘childless’ with cuties like Cole and me? I love my three parents!”
