Jason Kelce, former NFL star, shared his reactions to his brother Travis Kelce’s new TV venture during its premiere.
Travis Kelce, a three-time Super Bowl champ with the Kansas City Chiefs, is making his acting debut in Ryan Murphy’s latest FX series Grotesquerie, which launched on Wednesday.
The show centers on a detective, played by Niecy Nash, who teams up with a local nun to unravel a string of horrific crimes.
In the premiere episode, viewers witness a chilling scene where a baby is seen being boiled. Jason took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his disbelief, gaining almost 727,000 views for his post that said, “If Travis boiled a baby, I’m gonna be real p***** #Grotesquerie,” hinting that his brother might play the killer.
Following his hosting gig on Saturday Night Live this year, Travis is charting his path in Hollywood. He’s also set to host a spinoff of Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? titled Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?, premiering on Amazon Prime Video on October 16.
Co-star Nicholas Chavez spoke highly of Travis’s acting skills at the premiere of his Netflix series, Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story. “He has such an exciting character in this show… I think that people should be looking forward to seeing Travis shine,” Chavez told People.
Other co-stars echoed similar sentiments. Courtney B. Vance remarked to Variety, “It would be one thing if he wasn’t a nice guy, but really, he’s a nice guy,” praising the casting choice.
The Kelce brothers’ mom, Donna, attended the premiere as well, noting, “I know he wanted to do this… He has no fear of trying things,” reflecting on Travis’s fearlessness in pursuing acting.
Fans caught a sneak peek of Travis’s character in the Grotesquerie trailer released earlier this month, where he says, “There’s no future after this,” as a mysterious figure.
