Kathy Griffin has stepped up to support Stormy Daniels by donating $30,000 towards a fundraiser aiming to assist Daniels in relocating due to receiving death threats.
The comedian encouraged others to contribute to a crowdfunding initiative with a $1.25 million goal. This would help the former adult film star move to a safer place with her family and pets, including horses. Daniels revealed that she was subjected to doxxing, wherein her personal information, such as addresses and phone numbers, was exposed online following her involvement in former President Donald Trump’s hush money trial.
In May, Trump was found guilty of 34 felony charges related to misusing his campaign funds to silence Daniels about their alleged 2006 affair. During the trial, Daniels testified in New York and later expressed that her address was leaked online, leading to threats and the need to cover legal expenses.
Daniels wrote on the GoFundMe page, “For over 6 years, I have been fighting to speak the truth…and paying the price for it. Part of this battle resulted in attorney fees being automatically awarded after being denied my day in court. I refused to back down or give a penny for telling the truth. Now I have been given the greatest gift because those attorney fees are NOT coming from me! Complete strangers have generously come together in a powerful stance and donated to cover it instead. After the judgement is satisfied, whatever is left will be used to relocate to a safe place.”
Griffin’s $30,000 contribution was greatly appreciated by Daniels, who publicly thanked her for the gesture. Daniels expressed her gratitude, saying, “Thank you @kathygriffin for your incredibly generous donation ($30K!!!) and your unwavering support/friendship. After the site fees and paying the attorney fee judgement, the gofundme is less than $55K from being able to relocate after being doxxed during testifying (horses are already moved to safe place).
Griffin showed her support by sharing Daniels’ post and urged others to assist in reaching the fundraising goal. She then reposted the message, adding, “Let’s thank our pal @StormyDaniels and help her get to her goal! 🙏.”
Griffin has been vocal in her support for Daniels in the past and even declared herself as part of “Team Stormy” back in 2018. She shared a picture on social media where she posed with Daniels, playfully flipping off the camera, captioning it, “#TeamStormy.”
