In a notable online exchange, rappers Eminem and Kid Rock have shown each other support ahead of the 2024 presidential election, despite their differing political views.
Both hailing from Michigan, Eminem, aka Marshall Bruce Mathers III, recently joined former President Barack Obama at a Michigan rally, endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris. Conversely, Kid Rock performed at the Republican National Convention in July, adapting his hit “American Bad Ass” to fit the upcoming election vibe.
Despite their political differences, which some might assume would create tension, it appears their friendship remains solid. The two stars have collaborated in the past and continue to respect each other’s viewpoints.
Kid Rock kicked off his video by strumming his guitar and expressing his love for Eminem, despite their political disagreement. He praised Eminem and others like Taylor Swift for their willingness to vocalize their beliefs. “Thinking differently is what makes this country great,” he stated, firmly endorsing Trump and his MAGA stance.
This video has since garnered 1.1 million views, illustrating the interest it has sparked.
In response, Eminem took to X (formerly Twitter) to show camaraderie, saying, “Here’s something @KidRock and I both agree on… GO @Lions!!!! Appreciate you, Bob.” His post attracted 2.1 million views.
Kid Rock later thanked Eminem, noting the unexpected unity between two white rappers from Detroit amidst a divided nation. His reply generated 1 million views as well.
During his performance at the Republican National Convention, Kid Rock energized the crowd by replacing lyrics in his song with chants for Trump and emphasizing key battleground states. He called Trump “the most patriotic, bada** on earth” before leaving the stage.
Eminem, on the other hand, has been an outspoken critic of Trump, notably delivering a scathing freestyle called “The Storm” at the BET Hip Hop Awards shortly after Trump’s inauguration. He has described Trump as a “racist” and has expressed how much Trump’s actions affect him personally.
Whether through support or criticism, the exchange between these two artists highlights the diverse political landscape of the country and their unique roles within it.
