Michael Strahan’s daughter recently underwent surgery to remove a port as part of her cancer journey.
Isabella Strahan, aged 19, began documenting her battle with medulloblastoma, a rare type of cancerous brain tumor, on her YouTube channel after being diagnosed in October.
After completing her final round of chemotherapy in June, following three previous craniotomies, she shared her latest surgery experience with her followers.
In a video update, Isabella is seen preparing for the port removal procedure with her mother, Jean Muggli, documenting her journey back to the hospital.
The port, known as a “chemo port,” is a device inserted into a vein to facilitate blood draws and treatments without repeated needle insertions, as explained by the Cleveland Clinic.
Isabella continued to engage her 41,800 subscribers, showing them around the hospital ward and her room, humorously mentioning her recent movie watch and post-surgery recovery expectations.
The video concludes with Isabella being wheeled into surgery surrounded by cheerful nurses and decorations, followed by her return to consciousness expressing gratitude and providing assurance of future updates.
Earlier this year, Michael Strahan took time off hosting Good Morning America to support his daughter. He also shared his own health journey, undergoing surgery to remove basal cell carcinoma from his hairline, affirming that everything is proceeding well.
