The controversy arose from interactions between Tyson, who appeared on MrBeast’s channel, and a young individual known as LavaGS that allegedly started when the latter was 13 years old and Tyson was 20.
A video analyzing the pair’s online communications, which included references to sensitive topics like nude images, sex, and explicit animated content, sparked public scrutiny. According to NBC News, the contentious posts have since been removed.
Expressing his disgust towards the allegations, MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, took to social media (formerly Twitter) to denounce the behaviors, stating, “Over the last few days, I’ve become aware of the serious allegations of Ava Tyson’s behavior online and I am disgusted and opposed to such unacceptable acts.”
MrBeast revealed that in response to the situation, he has initiated an investigation conducted by an independent third party to gather all necessary facts. He swiftly took action by severing ties with Tyson, removing her from his company, channel, and any association with MrBeast. He made it clear that he does not endorse or support the inappropriate actions in any way.
Committing to await the investigators’ findings for further actions, the social media influencer emphasized the need for a comprehensive inquiry to address the situation effectively.
In her response, Tyson refuted the allegations but issued an apology to her followers, announcing her decision to step down from MrBeast’s channel to prioritize her family and mental well-being.
The individual known as LavaGS, now 20 years old, publicly denied the grooming accusations on social media, stating that the videos and accusations were false and misrepresenting the truth. He clarified that his interactions with Tyson were not one-on-one but took place in public forums.
Tyson referred to LavaGS’ statements to support her stance against the claims, emphasizing that the situation was being inaccurately portrayed. She acknowledged her past use of inappropriate humor and expressed her commitment to personal growth.
