Singer Sabrina Carpenter experienced an unexpected moment during her performance at the Outlands Festival in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park on August 10, as a fireworks mishap left fans concerned for her safety.
During her set, a stray firework startled Carpenter, prompting her to scream and run across the stage. Clips circulating on social media capture the moment, showing her visibly shaken as she reacted to the pyrotechnic surprise.
Fans quickly took to social media to check on her, with one Instagram user commenting, “Sabrina, are you okay? You scared us with those screams at the end of the show!” Another added, “That ending looked like a scene from a movie. Poor Sabrina was SCARRED for life with those fireworks.”
Afterward, Carpenter shared a series of photos on Instagram celebrating her performance, thanking her crew for their support. The post included shots of her on stage with special guest Kacey Musgraves, as well as backstage moments with her dancers.
She wrote, “Headlined @outsidelands 😮 Thank you to everyone who came. A special thank you to @spaceykacey for coming out to sing and dance to Nancy Sinatra with me :’) I love my entire team and crew for making this show a success!”
In the comments, fans continued to discuss the fireworks incident, with one noting, “Our polly pocket was NOT prepared for the pyro and fireworks at the end!” Another chimed in, “Those screams at the end of the show? TOTALLY NOT PLANNED.”
Carpenter, who rose to fame on Disney Channel’s Girl Meets World, released her debut album in 2015. Earlier this year, she had the opportunity to open for Taylor Swift on several stops of the Eras Tour in Latin America, Australia, and Singapore.
Describing Swift as a mentor and one of her closest friends, Carpenter expressed her gratitude for the insights she gains from the renowned artist. “It’s amazing to learn from her and the community of artists that I connect with, getting advice that you can’t just find online,” she told Variety earlier this month.
