Fans of Taylor Swift tuning into Jeopardy! recently expressed their dismay when none of the contestants could answer a question about their beloved artist.
During Thursday’s show, returning champion Rishabh Wuppalapati faced off against Angel Poe and Aaron Brown in a selection of intriguing categories like Picture the Hit Song and Recent Slang.
When Wuppalapati opted for “Picture the Hit Song” at $600, host Ken Jennings revealed the clue: “Taylor Swift felt it creeping up on her.”
With the clock ticking down and no correct answers buzzing in, Jennings quipped, “Ooh, the Swifties might be mad. What is a Lavender Haze?”—a reference to a track from Swift’s 2022 album, Midnights.
Viewers at home weren’t shy about sharing their thoughts, calling the clues “weak” and questioning how the contestants missed them. One viewer tweeted, “Beige flag? Lavender haze? Nobody’s getting these weak #jeopardy clues,” while others expressed their disbelief that the Taylor Swift question stumped all players.
However, not everyone was in the know; one viewer admitted, “Taylor question in jeopardy and I didn’t even get it.”
Wuppalapati ended up winning again, boosting his three-day total to $52,802. This isn’t the first instance of Swift-related questions falling flat on the show. In a previous round in March, contestants missed a clue about Swift’s song “Fifteen,” eliciting a humorous acknowledgment of the potential backlash from fans.
Meanwhile, Swift is finishing her record-breaking Eras tour with upcoming shows in Miami, Florida. Initially set for 52 performances, the tour has exploded to over 150 dates worldwide, covering various eras of her career and closing out in Canada this December.
