Viral Reactions: Prince Harry’s Anticipated Return to the UK

A recently resurfaced clip of Prince Harry receiving cheers outside a London cathedral, where his parents were married, has gone viral as he prepares for another trip to the UK.

The Duke of Sussex visited London in May to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, his initiative for injured and sick military personnel, at St Paul’s Cathedral. Interestingly, this is the same place where he faced boos during a similar service for Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee two years ago and where Princess Diana and King Charles exchanged vows in 1981.

Despite the potential for a similar reception, Prince Harry received a warmer welcome at his event. He enjoyed a walkabout, engaging with fans, shaking hands, and chatting with attendees.

The clip of this moment made waves on TikTok, paired with the message: “Wishing Prince Harry a Happy 40th Birthday.” It has garnered over 110,000 likes and 1.2 million views, prompting comments like “he’s like his Mum, such a lovely Prince,” and “Harry, please come back to the UK.”

This viral moment arrives just as it was announced that Prince Harry will return to the UK for the WellChild Awards on September 30. Royal observers are curious to see if he will reunite with family, particularly King Charles, who is currently undergoing cancer treatment.

The Duke last saw his father in February during a brief visit following the King’s diagnosis. They managed to spend about thirty minutes together in London, but Harry did not join him at the family’s Sandringham estate and headed back home soon after.

During his May visit, King Charles skipped the Invictus Games service and did not see Harry privately. A spokesperson for the Duke commented, “In response to the many inquiries regarding a potential meeting, it unfortunately won’t be possible due to His Majesty’s full schedule. The Duke understands his father’s commitments and hopes to see him soon.”
