Where Princess Kate is Headed Next: A Look at Her Upcoming Appearances

2024 has been a challenging year for Princess Kate, who stepped back from public engagements to undergo abdominal surgery in January. In March, she shared the news of her cancer diagnosis and began a preventive chemotherapy regimen.

This year, Kate has only made two official appearances, both during the summer months. Her first public engagement since the cancer announcement took place in June at the Trooping the Colour for King Charles III’s official birthday in London.

Her second appearance was in July, where she attended the Wimbledon men’s singles final as the patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club, accompanied by her daughter, Princess Charlotte, and her sister, Pippa Matthews.

Before her June appearance, Kate gave an update on her chemotherapy, stating that the treatment was ongoing, and she wasn’t “out of the woods” yet. However, she expressed a desire to do more work from home alongside her public engagements.

On September 9, she happily announced that her chemotherapy had concluded and she was now focusing on remaining “cancer free.” Fans are excited to hear that she is looking forward to returning to work and engaging in more public events soon.

While appearances may be announced on short notice, there are a couple of significant royal events coming up where fans expect to see Kate prominently.

Remembrance Sunday

Each November, the British royal family gathers with government and military leaders to honor those who lost their lives in active service during wartime on Remembrance Sunday. This event takes place on the second Sunday of November, near Armistice Day (November 11), marking the end of World War I.

The ceremony in London features a special tribute at the Cenotaph, where royals like Charles, Prince William, Princess Anne, and Prince Edward lay wreaths of poppies. Kate, along with Queen Camilla and other family members, traditionally observes the ceremony from nearby balconies.

Kate has participated in these commemorations for many years and is expected to attend again this year.

Christmas Carols

Another important event on the royal calendar is the annual Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey, which Kate initiated in 2021 to bring people together during the pandemic. The service includes musical performances and readings from celebrities and is broadcast on Christmas Eve.

Over the past few years, various members of the royal family have attended, and last year’s event honored Queen Elizabeth II. This year’s service is set to continue, with Kate leading its theme and direction.
