A couple is capturing hearts online after their surprise announcement of expecting triplets has gone viral!
Stephanie Woodward and her husband Ryan Chalmers decided to share the big news during a family dinner with Chalmers’ parents. In a viral TikTok video, Stephanie presents her mother-in-law with a card containing ultrasound images of their three babies, labeled as baby A, baby B, and baby C. The card jovially declared, “Time to party!” while the inside proclaimed, “It’s going to be a big party.”
As her mother-in-law gasps with excitement, her father-in-law takes a moment to grasp the news, hilariously asking, “What is that, are those inside of you?” But once he flips through the images, the realization hits!
For the couple from Rochester, New York, this joyful moment came after two years of struggling with fertility, including a stillbirth and several miscarriages. “Seeing three little babies on that ultrasound was beyond anything we could have imagined,” shared Woodward.
Originally meant for friends and family to follow their journey, the video exploded in popularity, racking up over 14 million views and 12,000 comments. One viewer quipped, “He looks like he’ll be such an iconic grandpa,” while others humorously pointed out that her father-in-law bears a resemblance to the Canadian-American actor Martin Short.
Addressing the unexpected triplet news, Woodward said, “We knew they’d figure it out eventually, but no one really expects to hear triplets, so it was a joyful surprise. We were just thrilled to celebrate with them.”
Later that evening, Woodward felt the effects of her growing babies and had to make a quick bathroom run. A few months after the announcement, the couple welcomed their three little ones into the world.
