As Halloween draws near, the festive vibe isn’t just for humans; even dachshunds are getting in on the fun! A TikTok user, @scbigdaddy, recently posted a video showcasing his three adorable pups interacting with a Halloween decoration. Instead of barking or scurrying away, the dachshunds were surprisingly relaxed around the spooky dummy, and their owner humorously suggested they’d made a new friend.
In the clip, two of the dogs seemed to think the dummy was a real person, happily cuddling up to it as if it were a comfy lap, embracing the Halloween spirit a bit too soon!

Halloween is beloved for its fun costumes, decorating, and—of course—trick-or-treating. According to a YouGov poll, it ranks as the third most favored day of the year among Americans, following Christmas and Thanksgiving. In fact, 15 percent of those surveyed said Halloween is their top holiday.
The Halloween spirit now stretches beyond just one day in October. Many enthusiasts start their decorating well in advance. A recent survey revealed that only 3 percent believe October 31 is the earliest one should start decorating. Meanwhile, 39 percent feel it’s acceptable to begin as early as October 1-15, and 24 percent would start even sooner, between Labor Day and the end of September.

Back to the TikTok video, it has sparked plenty of laughter online, amassing over 1,200 comments. One viewer quipped, “If not friend, why friend shaped?” while another joked, “A new babysitter.” The general consensus? Dogs are wonderfully open-minded companions, with one user saying, “I might do this just so my dog has some company while we’re at work!”
