Internet Can’t Get Enough of Dog’s Epic Stretch: ‘Namaste’

Buzz the golden retriever has taken the internet by storm with his hilarious take on the downward dog yoga pose. This adorable pooch showcases a full-body stretch that’s bringing smiles and laughter all around.

In a viral TikTok video shared by (@goldenhrbuzz), Buzz demonstrates his remarkable “Sunday morning stretch.”

Filmed by his owner in Wisconsin, Buzz starts by stretching his front legs and then smoothly glides his body backward until he’s sprawled out flat on the wooden floor.

Once he finishes, Buzz even glances up at the camera as if asking, “Did you catch that?”

Since its release on July 21, the video has charmed millions, racking up over 5.1 million views and 1.3 million likes on TikTok.

Just like us, dogs often stretch after waking up or after lounging for a while. According to Hill’s Pet Nutrition, stretching helps them loosen their muscles and get back into action.

Most stretches are just natural reflexes, akin to our yawns. But if a dog stretches excessively, it might indicate boredom or a longing for attention. On the other hand, frequent stretching could also signify possible injuries or joint discomfort, which owners should monitor closely.

Hill’s notes that dogs may stretch in a play bow position, inviting play with their pals. If they do this around no other dogs, it might hint at an underlying issue like abdominal pain. When this happens, they might hold the position longer or cry out due to discomfort.

It’s crucial for dog owners to watch for any changes in their pups’ stretching habits. If stretching happens every time they rise, it’s usually fine. However, if stretching increases unusually, a vet visit could be wise for further insights.
