A tiny nine-week-old border collie named Flip has captured the hearts of the internet with his expert herding skills.
Flip, a young pup, was caught on camera trying his hand at herding sheep in a video shared by Backwoods Working Border Collies (BWR) on TikTok. In the clip, the little pup confidently chases after sheep much larger than him and successfully guides them into their pen.
Viewers can be heard applauding his efforts, with BWR commenting, “Flip, 9 weeks old, did a great job!”
His trainer shared, “Flip exceeded our expectations and everyone loved it when he took on the challenge, even though he was just watching Tuff and Rosie at first.”
The video quickly went viral on TikTok, amassing over 6 million views and 635,000 likes, with viewers amazed by the puppy’s talent.
Commenters marveled at Flip’s innate herding instincts, with one joking about the genetics at play.
Many hailed Flip as an “ELITE employee” and the “most adorable thing” they’ve seen on the platform.
Some users even humorously compared their own pets to Flip, highlighting the unique traits of border collies.
Considered bright and energetic workaholics, border collies excel in agility training and make great family pets when provided with mental and physical stimulation, like obedience training, according to the American Kennel Club.
Flip’s successful herding debut earned him a well-deserved “standing ovation,” marking a proud moment for his trainer.
His trainer shared that Flip continues to thrive in training, enjoying time with his brother Ruger, and demonstrating a love for learning, playing, and attention.
The trainer also expressed gratitude for the local veterinarian’s support in their work with the border collies at Honey Hill Animal Hospital.
