The New York Times launched the game on June 12, 2023. It’s now the most popular news site game, called Wordle. The game challenges players to discover a common thread among words.
Here’s how to play: below you’ll find today’s crossword clues and answers
What is ‘Connections?’
Players must categorize 16 words based on their associations into 4 groups. For instance, in today’s puzzle, the word “enjoy” connects “enjoy,” “dig,” “fancy,” and “like.”
Each category is color-coded based on its difficulty level: yellow is easiest, followed by blue, green, and purple. While the puzzles seem straightforward, they can prove challenging.
The topics range from movie franchises to body parts, offering a variety of connections. When a group of words is correctly identified, they disappear from the grid. Players have up to four guesses, with each incorrect guess counting as a mistake. If you make four mistakes, the game ends.
The shuffle feature rearranges the text on the screen randomly to assist players stuck in a particular situation.
Editor Wyna Liu explains that dividing the game into difficulty levels adds to the challenge, with diverse categories making the gameplay satisfying and engaging.
Different strategies, like wordplay methods or item overlap, are employed to enhance difficulty. Liu emphasizes the careful selection of items in the grid to maintain player intrigue.
