A heartwarming story unfolded when a woman found her missing dog and took a walk around the neighborhood with her furry friend to gather up all the missing dog posters scattered around.
In a TikTok video, Perla Vanessa (@perkz.v) can be seen walking her dog Leia down the streets where posters of missing puppies were posted on poles. The video has gained over 128,000 views since it was shared in May.
Perla, in the video, humorously wrote, “POV: I’m taking Leia along with me to remove all of her missing flyers. The entire block has seen me all day with puffy red eyes after crying for hours.”
While Perla collects the crumpled flyers in a plastic bag, Leia seems unfazed, happily sniffing and trotting beside her owner.
Perla mentioned in a comment online that it was the posters that led her to reunite with Leia, as a neighbor who found Leia without a collar saw the flyers and connected the dots.
Leia had gone missing on a Saturday, but it wasn’t until Sunday that the family realized because Leia usually looks after all their dogs and isn’t a cause for worry.
Perla shared her relief, saying, “Leia will never leave my side again.”
According to the American Society for the Prevention of Animal Cruelty (ASPCA), around 3.1 million dogs end up in shelters each year in the US, with 710,000 of them reuniting with their families.
Commenters on the video expressed their happiness at the heartwarming ending, with one person admitting, “My life would have been in chaos if my dog had been lost.”
Perla appreciated the support from the community, especially those who aided in the search for Leia. One person even mentioned that their children had assisted in finding the missing dog.
The tale ended with gratitude and joy as Perla and Leia’s story resonated with many, showcasing the bond between humans and their loyal four-legged companions.
