Kitten’s Adorable “Punishment” for Playing with Pasta

Lorena Bravo (@whoislorenabravo) posted a delightful video of her dad’s foster kitten, Solaris, playfully pouncing on freshly made pasta. The caption read: “How Angel hair pasta is made.”

In the Instagram reel, which has received over 225,000 likes and 3.1 million views, an onscreen caption humorously questions, “How much trouble did dad’s foster get into for playing with the freshly made pasta?”

The footage shows the tiny gray, white, and black tabby kitten jumping up to bat at sheets of pasta dangling from the table’s edge.

But fear not, her so-called “punishment” was anything but harsh. Rather, her foster dad lovingly wrapped her in his sweater and planted a kiss on her head, with Bravo jokingly captioning, “This much trouble!”

Fostering cats like Solaris is a fantastic way to give them a temporary home while helping them find forever families, which eases the strain on crowded shelters. The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) notes that 6.3 million pets enter U.S. shelters every year, with around 3.2 million of them being cats.

Angel hair pasta, with its light, thin strands, is ideal for mild sauces, but in this case, it also got a playful twist—courtesy of a curious kitten.

When it comes to disciplining cats, experts from The Spruce Pets recommend gentle methods like positive reinforcement and distraction to steer them away from unwanted behaviors, ensuring they feel safe and loved. Clearly, Solaris felt both during her time in “cuddle prison.”

Instagram users couldn’t resist chiming in on the adorable chaos. One wrote, “He can’t reach, put it lower,” while another joked, “She’s sentenced to life in cuddle prison.” Someone even shared their own cat story about a pasta mishap.

Other comments included quips like, “That angel hair might have some angel fur in it now,” and “Penalty snuggles.” Clearly, this playful kitten and her charming antics are stealing hearts everywhere.
