The Los Angeles Dodgers’ standout in the National League Championship Series was surprisingly one of their smaller players.
Tommy Edman, at 5-foot-10, took home the Most Valuable Player award after the Dodgers secured a decisive 10-5 victory over the New York Mets, clinching the series.

In this series, Edman delivered a remarkable performance, finishing with 11 hits in 27 at-bats (.407) and racking up 11 RBIs with a .630 slugging percentage.
Edman’s pivotal moment came early in Game 5 when he hit a two-run double against Sean Manaea, shifting the game’s momentum as the Dodgers never looked back from there. He followed that up with a two-run homer in the third inning.
Throughout the series, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts strategically moved Edman up the lineup, ultimately placing him in the cleanup spot during pivotal moments, especially after first baseman Freddie Freeman went down with an ankle injury.

Reflecting on his earlier playoff experiences, Edman’s transformation is notable—he went 0-for-14 in a previous championship series appearance with the St. Louis Cardinals back in 2019.
Edman joined the Dodgers as part of a major three-team trade in July. Initially sidelined due to wrist surgery, he later bounced back and contributed significantly, with a .237 batting average, six home runs, and 20 RBIs in just over a month.
