While Dragic’s former Miami teammate Chris Bosh won’t play, he’ll be present at the event. Jimmy Butler was expected to show but had to cancel due to scheduling issues, as per BasketNews.

Titled “The Night of the Dragon,” the game will take place at the Stozice Arena in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The Goran Dragic Foundation is sponsoring the event, and the teams will be drafted during a gala dinner hosted by the charity the night before.

Fans are clearly excited, with tickets flying off the shelves in just 20 minutes.

After a commendable 15-season run in the NBA, Dragic announced his retirement last December. “I have lived my greatest dream,” he expressed, thanking his family and supporters for their encouragement throughout his career.

Known primarily for his incredible time with the Miami Heat, Dragic also holds a legendary status in Slovenia for leading the national team to a EuroBasket championship in 2017—an achievement considered pivotal in Slovenian sports history.

“It was everything,” Dragic reminisced about that moment.

After scoring 35 points in the final against Serbia, he became the hero of the match. Luka Doncic, who played alongside Dragic during that tournament, noted, “I’m just glad I know him and played with him. I learned a lot about leadership from him.”

Dragic was named the NBA’s Most Improved Player in the 2013-14 season and became an All-Star in 2017-18, making a significant impact during his time with seven different franchises.

The 38-year-old also played for teams such as the Phoenix Suns, Houston Rockets, Chicago Bulls, Brooklyn Nets, Milwaukee Bucks, and Toronto Raptors throughout his distinguished career.
