Steph Curry Updates Instagram Bio, Drops Mention of Warriors

Stephen Curry, the Golden State Warriors guard, has made a small but notable change to his Instagram bio. He switched from describing himself as “Guard of the Warriors” to proudly stating “Olympic Gold Medalist.”

Curry also updated his social media profile pictures on X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram, featuring a shot of him holding the American flag after his gold medal win. He posted another photo alongside NBA legends LeBron James and Kevin Durant, captioned “Same Team… Winning Team.”

This change seems to reflect his appreciation for representing the USA and celebrating his first Olympic gold medal, rather than any shift in focus towards the Warriors.

Before heading into the 2024 Paris Olympics, Curry shared with Yahoo Sports his desire to stay with the Warriors for his entire career. He acknowledged, however, the unpredictable nature of the NBA.

“I want to be a Warrior for life,” Curry said, though he recognized how quickly things can change.

At 36, Curry has two more years left on his contract and is eligible for an extension this summer. Having spent his whole career in the Bay Area, he hopes to avoid following Klay Thompson’s path of heading elsewhere after their 12 seasons as teammates.

Curry expressed his disbelief over Thompson’s recent move to the Dallas Mavericks, stating it’s still hard for him to accept not being on the court together after so many years.

“Not having Klay, it hasn’t really sunk in yet,” he mentioned, noting the unique dynamic they shared.

As long as he suits up for the Warriors, Curry will keep the team competitive and relevant.
