Arkansas State Police have launched an AMBER Alert for a 16-year-old girl, Autumn Nicole Lyon, who is thought to be with a 30-year-old man she met online.
The alert was issued on Monday after Autumn was reported missing on Saturday. Authorities believe she may be with Adrian Garces.
Autumn has long brown hair, a fair complexion, stands 5’7″ and weighs about 135 pounds. It’s important to note that while photos show her with blonde hair, her current hair color is brown.
When she was last seen, Autumn was wearing a brown t-shirt, black leggings, and white sneakers, with her hair pulled back in a ponytail.
Garces, described as a Hispanic male, is 5’8″, has brown hair and eyes, and a medium complexion. He was last seen wearing a blue collared shirt and jeans, and he has a tattoo on his left forearm.
Authorities suspect that the duo may have moved to Texas in a gray Ford F-150 pickup truck with the Texas license plate TTK 1766. Garces also has an active warrant out for his arrest.
If you have any information on Autumn’s whereabouts, please reach out to the Mineral Springs Police Department at (870) 845-2626.
From 2007 to 2020, the U.S. saw an average of 664,776 missing persons cases annually, according to the National Missing and Unidentified Persons (NamUS) database. This translates to about 6.5 missing persons for every 100,000 individuals.
As of now, there are over 25,000 open missing persons cases across the country—keep in mind that this figure only represents cases that have been voluntarily reported. Oklahoma holds the highest percentage of missing persons at 16 per 100,000, followed by Arizona at 14.2, with Arkansas above the national average at 11.6.
In contrast, Massachusetts has the lowest rate, with 2.7 per 100,000.
On a related note, an AMBER alert issued last month for a missing three-year-old boy was successfully resolved when he was found safe in Arkansas.
