Bill Maher took a jab at Fox News host Bret Baier during Friday’s episode of Real Time With Bill Maher, following Baier’s interview with Vice President Kamala Harris.
Maher didn’t hold back, labeling Baier as “a huge a******” while expressing his skepticism about the integrity of Fox News journalism.
Harris’s interview with Baier included heated discussions on immigration and transgender healthcare, as well as a critique of Republican candidate Donald Trump for suggesting he would use the military against Americans.
Maher commented on the interview, quipping, “They asked her the same question they ask every guest, ‘Don’t you just hate Kamala Harris?'”
He then switched focus to Baier, expressing surprise at how he was perceived. “I always heard about him, but I don’t watch Fox News much, so I didn’t know,” Maher said, referring to Baier’s reputation as the “most legitimate journalist on Fox News.” He remarked, “No, actually, he was a huge a******.”
In a humorous twist, Maher remarked, “It’s like being the hottest person in the dollar store,” highlighting the low bar he believes exists at Fox.
Previously, Maher had critiqued Harris during her first major interview post-campaign launch, where she appeared with her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz. Following the CNN segment, Trump dismissed it as “BORING!!!” to which Maher responded, “Good. I’d love some boring.”
Maher’s comments come as the race for the presidency heats up, with added tension and scrutiny on candidates.
