Breaking News: Candidates Hit the Campaign Trail Again Following Trump Assassination Attempt

The campaign trail is buzzing again today following an attempted assassination on former President Donald Trump that occurred last Sunday.

Ohio Senator JD Vance is set to speak at a press event in Sparta, Michigan at 1:30 p.m., focusing on immigration issues and the border. Later, he’ll hold a rally in Eu Claire, Wisconsin at 5:30 p.m.

Trump will also be visiting Michigan today, hosting a town hall in Flint at 7:00 p.m. Eastern.

On the other side of the aisle, Vice President Kamala Harris has no scheduled campaign events but is participating in an interview with the National Association of Black Journalists this afternoon in Philadelphia.

Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff will be giving remarks at a campaign reception in Washington D.C.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz will kick off the day with comments at a political event in Macon, Georgia at 10 a.m. before heading to Atlanta for additional events and wrapping up with a rally in Asheville, North Carolina at 6:30 p.m.

It’s worth noting that today was also meant for a proposed Fox News presidential debate between Trump and Harris, but no further debates have been confirmed since their first clash on September 10, which many viewed as a victory for Harris.
