Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie declared himself an undecided voter despite his recent viewing of the notable debate between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris. Christie made this revelation on The View, leaving the hosts and audience bewildered.
While praising Harris for her sharp rebuttals during the debate, Christie stated, “Oh, I’m still an undecided voter.” He further clarified, to the audience’s dismay, that he would definitely not be voting for Trump.
Christie had a significant role in Trump’s 2016 transition team, initially being viewed as a strong candidate for a cabinet role. However, political strife and conflicts over his performance during the transition eventually led to his sidelining from the administration. Despite his past support, Christie’s relationship with Trump evolved into a complicated mix of loyalty and criticism.
In the current political landscape, Christie has emerged as a vocal critic of Trump’s influence within the GOP. He continued this critique on The View, suggesting that if Trump struggled against Harris’ preparedness during the debate, it’s indicative of deeper issues.
One of the more troubling moments for Christie was Trump’s refusal to engage with Harris directly, which he attributed to a lack of respect. He recalled how Trump had previously acknowledged Hillary Clinton’s intelligence and toughness, suggesting a stark contrast in Trump’s attitude toward Harris.
Christie advised that Harris could improve her chances in a potential second debate by acknowledging past mistakes made during the Biden administration, saying, “The American people are forgiving and understanding.”
Usher Backs Harris
In the same episode, singer Usher also showed support for Harris, although he missed the debate due to a concert. Usher emphasized the importance of personal choice in voting and urged voters to reflect on the country’s current state versus its aspirations.
“Voting is an individual choice… It’s about finding the candidate that fits the vision for the country we want to be,” he noted.
