Recently, Trump admitted to possessing a gun during his probation hearing. This comes after a court found him guilty of hiding payments to Stormy Daniels. While CNN reported these incidents, Trump has not pleaded guilty and plans to appeal.
In March 2023, Trump’s New York firearms license was suspended due to the hush-money case. Following this, two firearms were surrendered to the NYPD, while one was moved to Florida legally.
According to a city official, Trump claimed to still have a firearm in Florida.

A person convicted of a serious crime is not allowed to own firearms under federal law. If convicted, they usually surrender their weapons to a probation officer, risking further charges if they refuse.
It would be a confession if Trump currently possesses a gun after his conviction. However, solid proof is needed for enforcement actions as Trump has a history of making unfounded statements.
CNN reported that Palm Beach Police have no record of Trump having firearms or surrendering any.
Trump, a vocal advocate for gun rights, said in 2012 that he had concealed weapons permits and owned specific firearms. He did not mention any additional firearms acquired afterward. Trump has not commented on surrendering his gun post the probation hearing.
Trump’s stance on gun control has always been in favor of minimal restrictions.
