Recent polls indicate that former President Donald Trump is trailing behind Joe Biden among independent voters in the upcoming 2024 presidential elections.
Trump, who is facing legal challenges related to hush money payments to Stormy Daniels, has denied any wrongdoing and plans to appeal against the verdict. The polls show Biden leading among independents, a key voting bloc.
In a YouGov America/Yahoo News poll, 41% of independents support Biden compared to 38% for Trump, with 10% undecided and 11% not planning to vote. Another YouGov America/CBS News survey shows Biden leading Trump among independents by 50% to 48%.
Biden’s strong support among independents was a key factor in his victory over Trump in the 2020 election, according to Pew Research. While the recent polls favor Biden, they also suggest a close race as both candidates vie for a second term in the White House.
Despite the polls, the race remains tight, with FiveThirtyEight’s average polling showing Trump leading Biden by a narrow margin, indicating a challenging campaign ahead for both candidates.
