Florida Woman Confesses to Bomb Threats at Trump Golf Course and Hotel

A 60-year-old woman from Florida made headlines recently for threatening to detonate a bomb at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach.

Martha Jane Schoenfeld, a part-time manicurist and mother, left a voicemail asserting that she planted a bomb and hoped the course would be evacuated—except for former President Trump. Her ominous message led to a swift investigation by the U.S. Secret Service, which identified and arrested her soon after.

Schoenfeld appeared in federal court on July 12, just a day prior to a separate assassination attempt on Trump during a rally in Pennsylvania. Following her guilty plea on September 4, another attack occurred at the same golf course on September 15, when a gunman was caught aiming a rifle.

The shooter, identified as 58-year-old Ryan Wesley Routh, fled the scene but was later captured. The FBI is currently investigating the incident, revealing a tense atmosphere surrounding the golf venue.

Upon her arrest, Schoenfeld was found unarmed at home with her husband and initially denied making the bomb threat. However, after law enforcement informed her that the call was traceable, she admitted to it and also acknowledged issuing similar threats against Trump’s D.C. hotel and Senator Marco Rubio.

Facing a maximum of 10 years in prison, it appears federal prosecutors may recommend just a year of probation in light of her cooperation. This marks her first legal trouble, with sentencing set for December 3.
