Kamala Harris Can Break Away from Biden Without Consequences, Says Former Obama Advisor

Kamala Harris has officially accepted the Democratic presidential nomination, allowing her to sidestep attacks on President Joe Biden, as observed by CNN commentator Van Jones. This announcement came during the Democratic National Convention (DNC) after Biden endorsed her following his withdrawal from the race.

In the wake of this significant shift, former President Donald Trump seems to be struggling to recalibrate his campaign, often attacking Biden but not focusing on Harris as his main target.

Jones, a former adviser to Barack Obama, commented that Harris’s nomination not only liberates the Democratic ticket from Biden’s controversies but also brings unity to the party. “Kamala Harris has done something remarkable,” he said. “She can now move forward without any baggage, and she’s addressing issues on the left effectively.”

He further elaborated, “The narrative around the left has shifted from struggling with serious issues to embracing freedom and fun, effectively putting the ‘party’ back into the Democratic Party.”

David Axelrod, another prominent voice and key strategist for Obama’s campaigns, also lauded Harris’s powerful acceptance speech. He noted that she showcased a strength that could potentially level the playing field against Trump. “This was a strong performance. She appeared presidential on that stage,” he remarked.

Axelrod remarked on Harris’s skill in distancing herself from Biden’s image without casting any negative light on him during her address. “This was her moment of independence; she carved out her own identity,” he said, suggesting that Republicans will find it challenging to link her back to Biden’s history.

“It’s fascinating how little she mentioned Joe Biden,” he added. “She’s established herself as a separate entity, which will make it tough for the Republicans to tie her to his record.”
