Mary Trump, the niece of former President Donald Trump, has come out swinging, labeling her uncle a “deeply unwell traitor” in a recent blog post titled “Cheating as Way of Life, What Donald Keeps Getting Away With.”
She voiced her concerns about the upcoming election and her uncle’s alleged dishonesty shortly after appearing on MSNBC’s Deadline: White House, where she claimed he faced a “resounding defeat” during his debate with Vice President Kamala Harris.
Polling and pundit opinion largely indicated that Harris triumphed in the debate, which Mary Trump remarked would inflict a “narcissistic injury” on Donald that he would struggle to overcome.
As the daughter of Fred Trump, Mary has frequently criticized her uncle, notably with her book, Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World’s Most Dangerous Man, released in 2020.
On her Substack, she accused Donald of lying to the American public over the weekend, referencing his claims about a rigged debate and the notion that the 2020 election was stolen.
“It’s always projection with my uncle,” she noted, suggesting he is trying to sway perceptions ahead of the next election.
In a post on his app Truth Social, Donald Trump claimed that the 2024 election would face intense scrutiny and accused the Democrats of “rampant cheating” in 2020. He ominously added that “those who cheated will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the LAW” once he wins.
Mary highlighted that his rants conveniently ignored that the only people penalized for cheating in the last election were a few older Republicans in Florida, including Donald himself.
She stressed that the stakes in this election are far greater than in previous years, emphasizing that her uncle would do anything to regain the White House, motivated by his declining fortune and potential legal troubles.
“This election is too important for us to rely on media outlets that continue to normalize a deeply unwell traitor just to preserve the drama of it all,” she concluded.
