The family drama in the Trump clan is heating up as Mary Trump, the former president’s niece, speaks out against her cousin Eric Trump. The tension escalated when Fred Trump III, Mary’s brother, released a memoir accusing Donald Trump of callously stating “just let him die” regarding financial assistance for his disabled son, William.
In response, the Trump campaign dismissed these claims as “completely fabricated” and “fake news” while Eric blasted Mary for trying to “cash in” so close to the election.
Eric defended his family’s support, stating he has provided financial assistance for his cousin’s medical care and criticized Mary’s accusations as shameful and self-serving. He expressed disdain for her motives, suggesting she’s just trying to profit from family turmoil.
Mary shot back with a video statement, labeling Eric’s remarks as full of “lies and misinformation,” asserting that he’s “beneath [her] contempt.” She did not hold back, calling his comments abhorrent and accusing him of failing to recognize the true nature of his family’s financial dealings.
In a recent CNN interview, Fred Trump described Eric’s comments as “totally expected.” Mary revealed that her family has a long history of disputes over inheritance, claiming that Donald and his siblings swindled her and Fred out of a significant sum after their grandfather Fred Trump Sr. passed away in 1999.
Despite an earlier settlement, Mary attempted a lawsuit later, claiming her relatives defrauded her after undervaluing assets from the estate. “Almost two decades later, I found out they had, through fraudulent means, stolen our inheritance,” she remarked. “If they hadn’t, my brother wouldn’t have had to beg for their help.”
Mary is certain Donald had influence over Eric’s statement and emphasized that family squabbles over money run deep. “You can’t steal millions from your brother’s children and then play the hero when you offer a sliver of that money,” she declared.
