Michael Cohen, the former attorney of Donald Trump, has cautioned against Trump seeking a second term while highlighting individuals that Trump could target using SEAL Team Six.
Trump has announced plans to return to the US in November, possibly meeting Joe Biden again in 2020. Legal troubles have plagued Trump, with Cohen, who was found guilty on multiple counts, shedding light on potential dire consequences if Trump secures another term.
Speaking on MSNBC‘s Velshi, Cohen outlined a chilling scenario where political opponents, including the President of MSNBC, General Mark Milley, Mike Pence, Hillary Clinton, and even Biden’s family, could face consequences under a re-elected Trump.
Expressing his concerns, Cohen emphasized the seriousness of the situation, stating that this should alarm everyone in the country.
Trump’s intentions post-election remain unclear despite his history of criticism and clashes with the Department of Justice. In interviews, he has hinted at taking on political adversaries, stressing the necessity to combat what he perceives as threats to the nation.
SEAL Team Six, part of the US Joint Special Operations Command, operates as an elite military unit with a classified structure. Known for its successful missions, including the operation that led to Osama bin Laden’s death, SEAL Team Six undertakes high-risk assignments globally.
Cohen’s comments were prompted by discussions on legal immunity for actions carried out by the team under presidential orders. Concerns over Trump leveraging loyalists to pursue his goals have been raised by Miles Taylor, a former Trump official.
In an MSNBC Morning Joe interview, Taylor predicted Trump’s tendency to surround himself with allies, avoiding dissenting voices in his administration. Post his endorsement of Biden in the 2020 election, Taylor mobilized a group of ex-officials against a second Trump term, reflecting a trend where officials distanced themselves from Trump following the Capitol Riot in January 2021.
