Kentucky State Police are actively searching for Miya, an 8-month-old baby who has gone missing in Kentucky. Most of Miya’s family members have been arrested on various charges.
End of May
In late May, a search warrant was executed, and the police checked on the child’s welfare. According to King, the critical 48-hour window was missed in this case, delaying the investigation.
June 6
Miya’s parents, Tesla Tucker and Cage Rudd, were arrested on charges including child abandonment and drug possession. They are currently held at the Daviess County Detention Center. Additional charges of drug trafficking and child abuse are pending for the parents, along with organized crime charges.
Moreover, Miya’s grandfather, Ricky Smith, was also arrested on similar charges, including gun crimes.
June 9
Grandma Billie Smith was arrested on domestic violence charges dating back to 2023 along with Timothy Roach, who was not directly linked to Miya’s case. They are held at the Ohio County Detention Center.
June 11
Police utilized cadaver canines trained to detect human remains in their search for Miya.
June 12
Police executed a search warrant at Tesla Tucker’s parents’ home, resulting in the arrest of Taletha Tucker and David Tucker. The grandparents had their electronics seized, and three of Tesla Tucker’s children were placed in the care of the Cabinet of Community Based Services.
Investigation Continues
In October, it was revealed that Miya tested positive for Methamphetamine at birth. The investigation is ongoing, and the police encourage anyone with information to contact 270-826-3316.
