Nikki Haley recently advised Republicans to stop complaining about Kamala Harris’s lack of media interviews and focus on their campaigning efforts instead.
The Democratic presidential nominee has been criticized, particularly by Donald Trump, for avoiding press interactions since announcing her candidacy. However, Haley, who previously competed against Trump for the GOP nomination, emphasized on Fox News that the party should accept Harris at her word.
Haley stated, “We shouldn’t be surprised that we’re running against Kamala Harris. It was always going to be her.” She pointed out Biden’s struggles and expressed confidence in her assessment of Harris’s candidacy from the start.
She continued, urging the Republican Party to change its strategy, insisting, “The party needs to stop whining about her not giving interviews.” Haley highlighted specific policy positions that Harris has expressed, arguing that the GOP needs to campaign vigorously on these issues.
Despite the host noting that Harris’s campaign has claimed her stances have evolved, Haley maintained that “what Donald Trump needs to do is go out there and inform the American public about what Kamala Harris has said.”
With the election approaching, Haley stressed the importance of proactive campaigning. She remarked, “We knew it was going to be her; they can hold out as long as they want. That doesn’t mean we can’t talk about what she believes.”
Haley, the former South Carolina governor and U.N. ambassador under Trump, had contended for the 2024 Republican nomination but ultimately dropped out after losing in the Super Tuesday primaries. She managed to secure 95 delegates before concluding her campaign.
