Outrage Surfaces as Secret Service Requests Trump to Limit Rallies

Anger has flared up over reports that the Secret Service urged former President Donald Trump to conduct indoor rallies due to concerns about potential assassination attempts.

Following an intense House hearing regarding the assassination attempt on Trump during an outdoor rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13, Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle resigned from her position on Tuesday morning after facing intense questioning from lawmakers.

Later that day, The Washington Post disclosed that the Secret Service had previously expressed worries about the safety of large outdoor rallies to Trump campaign advisors, as reported by “three people familiar with the matter.”

The news outlet also mentioned that the Trump campaign had apparently acceded to the request and was exploring options for hosting future rallies indoors, with no plans for large outdoor events currently in the works.

Republican House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer responded to the report in an interview on Fox News that same night, expressing his disappointment at the possibility of outdoor Trump rallies being curtailed.

“I think people enjoy attending them, and you can accommodate more people outdoors than indoors,” Comer remarked. “He draws large crowds, obviously. The President will ultimately do what he wants to do.”

News of the Secret Service’s purported request promptly incited fury among supporters of Trump’s MAGA movement on social media.

Reacting to the news, the pro-Trump account “End Wokeness” expressed disbelief, stating, “Secret Service is now asking the Trump campaign to halt outdoor rallies. How about you do your job?”

MAGA influencer Rogan “DC Draino” O’Handley also responded via social media, saying, “This isn’t about his safety… It’s because the Biden regime wants him to halt giant rallies that demonstrate his popularity… And now they’re sort of warning him, ‘Don’t hold massive rallies… or you might get hurt.'”

The assassination attempt tragically claimed the life of one attendee at the rally and left two others injured. The shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, was swiftly neutralized by a counter-sniper after grazing Trump’s right ear with a bullet.
