Trump Tower in Chicago is making headlines as an unexpected venue for political messaging against Trump himself.
Last night, the Democratic National Committee (DNC) projected a variety of anti-Trump and anti-Vance slogans onto the towering 92-story building, just a day before the Democratic National Convention kicked off in the city.
Among the messages displayed was “Project 2025 HQ,” referring to a set of conservative policies purportedly endorsed by the next Republican president, despite Trump’s attempts to distance himself from them. Another phrase, “Trump-Vance Weird as Hell,” aimed to label both Trump and his running mate JD Vance as “creepy” figures, a central theme for the Harris-Walz campaign.

The projected messages were presented in both English and Spanish and included “Trump-Vance out for themselves” and “Harris Walz joy and hope.”
Meanwhile, the Trump International Hotel & Tower will serve as a strategic base for Republican planning amid the convention activities. Reports indicate that daily briefings are scheduled to take place there.
The DNC confirmed their involvement in the projections, with spokesperson Abhi Rahman sharing their purpose: “All eyes are on Chicago, and tonight everyone is seeing a preview of the contrast that will take center stage this week at the convention.”
Rahman emphasized the achievements of Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz, highlighting their commitment to working families, and critiqued Trump and Vance’s “backwards Project 2025 agenda,” which they argue threatens freedoms.
In a social media post featuring the slogan “Trump-Vance Weird as Hell,” Rahman noted: “While @TheDemocrats are joyfully celebrating in Chicago, residents of Chi-town are seeing a special message projected on Trump Tower.”
The projections utilized a powerful projector from a room conveniently located across the street, as confirmed by Rahman to Rolling Stone.
Trump is also planning to capitalize on the Democratic presence in Chicago, hosting campaign events in critical swing states to discuss various issues.
