Recent official reports reveal a surge in deportations of illegal migrants over the last two months.
The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has been flying both individuals and families back to various countries in South and Central America, as well as China, in efforts to enforce immigration laws.
Over the past year, a total of 742,000 individuals have been removed, a significant increase from the previous fiscal year numbers. This includes 111,000 family members facing deportation.
ICE emphasized that all noncitizens are screened to determine their legal status before removal proceedings take place.
Under the Biden administration, deportations have increased, with over 1.1 million individuals deported since 2021.
In July, a large charter flight to China marked a significant milestone in the effort to enforce immigration laws.
Despite challenges, efforts are ongoing to repatriate illegal migrants back to their home countries, with discussions ongoing to address necessary actions for removals.
Plans for potential future deportations are shaping up as political factions gear up for the upcoming elections.
