Taylor Swift has made headlines once again following a recent presidential debate.
On Tuesday night, she took to Instagram to reveal her endorsements for Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz.

In her post, Swift expressed her admiration for Kamala Harris, stating, “I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them.” She praised Harris as a “steady-handed, gifted leader” and noted her support for Walz, who has been an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and women’s autonomy for years.
Walz was quick to respond, saying, “I’m grateful to Taylor Swift and I say that as a cat owner. That was eloquent and clear and that’s the type of courage we need in America.”
Swift also encouraged her followers to engage in the electoral process, reminding them to register to vote and stressing the importance of early voting.
In her post, she cheekily referred to herself as a “childless cat lady,” a nod to comments made by Republican Senator JD Vance in the past. Her accompanying photo showcased her beloved cat, Benjamin Button.
After watching the debate, Swift urged her fans to do their homework on the candidates and the issues that matter to them. “As a voter, I make sure to watch and read everything I can about their proposed policies for this country,” she said.
Additionally, Swift commented on the inappropriate use of AI-generated images of her by former President Donald Trump to endorse his candidacy. She expressed her concern about misinformation and emphasized her intent to be transparent about her voting plans.
Trump later remarked on the AI images, stating he had no involvement in their creation, while acknowledging the dangers of such technology.
Once known for her political silence, Swift has become increasingly vocal in recent years, previously endorsing President Biden in 2020.
Shortly after her announcement, the online reaction was swift, with fans expressing their support across various platforms. Many noted the timing as perfect, with some humorously suggesting it was in response to claims of cat-eating in Ohio.

While Swift took some time to “Speak Now,” her fans have been ready for this moment since Harris’ nomination.
Over 20,000 supporters participated in a Zoom call for “Swifties for Kamala,” raising significant funds for Harris and Walz’s campaign, with input from various prominent figures.
“First of all, I am a Swiftie,” said singer Carole King, expressing her excitement for Kamala Harris’s candidacy.
The grassroots movement known as Swifties for Kamala emerged following Biden’s withdrawal from the 2024 race, with fans rallying to support Harris and raise awareness about crucial issues.
Emerald Medrano, a 22-year-old Swiftie from Texas, explained their motivation: “I knew that, as Swifties, we could unite and create something beautiful.”
The group’s platform has addressed key topics ranging from reproductive rights to social justice, offering resources for individuals to get involved.
