The hosts of “The View” showed their approval for the recent unanimous Supreme Court ruling on the abortion pill issue.
The Court decided that the plaintiffs lacked the legal grounds to sue the FDA over the Mifepristone Pill, as per the Constitution’s Article III. Justice Brett Kavanaugh clarified that the plaintiffs’ arguments did not meet the standard for standing to sue.
Alyssa Farah Griffin highlighted the connection between this decision and leaked audio involving Chief Justice John Roberts. Roberts emphasized that the Court should focus on interpreting laws rather than endorsing personal or religious beliefs.
Griffin agreed with the ruling and reiterated Chief Justice Roberts’ stance. “The Supreme Court shouldn’t dictate morality or personal beliefs,” Roberts had stated.
Ana Navarro pointed out that the ruling primarily focused on legal standing rather than the abortion issue itself. She mentioned that the case could resurface with valid standing in the future.
Navarro stressed the consequences of elections and urged viewers to stay informed. She tied the Court’s current composition to President Donald Trump‘s appointments and prompted awareness about the upcoming election.
Sunny Hostin reassured viewers that the decision did not drastically alter the current state of reproductive rights at the state level. She found solace in the confidence this ruling restored in the legal system.
Sara Haines echoed her agreement with the Court’s decision. She emphasized that judges base their rulings on legal frameworks, not personal preferences. The 9-0 ruling showcased a strict adherence to Constitutional and federal law interpretation.
