Urgent Alert: 2-Year-Old Child Missing After Being Taken by Mother

The Louisiana State Police (LSP) have issued a Level II Endangered/Missing Child Advisory for a 2-year-old boy from St. Martinville.

Little Kaizor Louis was last spotted around 4:30 p.m. on August 13, when his non-custodial mother, Meshaya Johnson, picked him up from daycare, according to an LSP statement on X (formerly Twitter).

Authorities believe Johnson and Kaizor were seen driving in a black sedan on Resweber Street, possibly heading to a home in Houston, approximately 210 miles away—a journey of around 3.5 to 4 hours from St. Martinville.

Kaizor is described as a Black male with black hair and brown eyes, standing about 2 feet tall and weighing around 25 pounds. When last seen, he was wearing a lime green t-shirt and yellow shorts.

His mother, Meshaya Johnson, is also a Black female with black hair and brown eyes, measuring approximately 5 feet, 3 inches tall and weighing around 130 pounds.

This advisory, issued on behalf of the St. Martinville Police Department, serves as a public call for information. Authorities urge anyone who might know Kaizor’s whereabouts to reach out to the St. Martinville Police at 337-394-3001 or dial 911.

Unlike the AMBER Alert system, which has specific criteria (like confirmed abduction and imminent danger), a Missing Child Advisory is used for situations where a child’s safety is at risk, but the criteria for an AMBER Alert might not be fully met.

The Level II Endangered/Missing Child Advisory aims to spread information quickly to help locate missing children. It typically includes crucial details such as the child’s age, physical appearance, last known location, and any known travel details, similar to AMBER Alerts.

It’s important to note that varying jurisdictions may have different naming conventions and criteria for such advisories. For example, Wisconsin recently introduced a Missing Child Alert system in response to the tragic losses of two children in 2022.
